Being a Dietitian

A blogging birthday: the (not so terrible) terrible twos.

June 10, 2016April 25, 2017 | Emma

It’s been coming up to my blogs second birthday (it’s today in fact) and I just couldn’t help but think this past year has been a bit like the terrible twos. Just so you are all aware, when it comes to the terrible twos I have absolutely no idea what I’m really talking about. I can barely adult, let alone look after another human. Continue reading →

Two weeks ago I had the pleasure of attending the Dietitians Association of Australia 33rd National Conference, in the best city in the world. (For those of you new to my ramblings, best city in the world = Melbourne.) Continue reading →

My 2015: Your top 5.

December 30, 2015April 25, 2017 | Emma

As the sun sets on another year, we all look back on what has happened and look forward to what the new year brings.

I’ve had a wonderful year. It’s been fun, it’s been testing and I’ve eaten some really, really good food. Continue reading →

5 questions everyone loves to ask a Dietitian.

It’s funny you know. As the years tick over and we all become that little bit wiser, it seems that often people are still asking the same questions over and over. Granted, nutrition research has changed over the years and dietitians, nutritionists, scientists and health organisations have had to eat their words. Continue reading →

9 things I have learnt in the job search.

September 24, 2015September 27, 2015 | Emma

After writing 39 job applications (I swear it was more than this) and undergoing 7 face to face, 3 phone, 1 skype & 1 bloodbath group interview, it would be safe to assume I know one or two things about the dietitian job hunt. Continue reading →

Hello!

My name is Emma and I'm an Accredited Practising Dietitian based in Western Victoria.

I am talk-your-ears-off passionate about food and nutrition. I am a strong advocate for a balanced eating pattern - packed full of fresh, whole food paddock-to-plate goodness, enjoyed with a healthy side of moderation.

Breakfast is my religion, peanut butter is a pantry essential and I would prefer to spend money on shoes than ‘superfoods’.

My blog is a mixture of food, nutrition and reflections on the simple (and often food-related) things in life.

Enjoy, Emma xo.
